Staff at Murray-Calloway County Hospital and the Center for Health & Wellness will be offering educational health promotion events during the month of March to community members, Wellness Center members and MCCH employees.

Join us on Monday, March 14 from 2-4 p.m. for a special Look Good Feel Better event at the MCCH Center for Health and Wellness.  This is a free, non-medical, brand-neutral national public service program to help women offset appearance-related changes from cancer treatments.  For more information, contact the American Cancer Society at 1-800-227-2345.

A free education event titled "Plan to Be Tobacco Free" will be held Thursday, March 17 from 1-2 p.m. in the Center for Health and Wellness.  The program will be presented by Tracy Tubbs with the Kentucky Cancer Program.  Tracy will be presenting a FREE 60-minute session to teach people how to be tobacco free.  The class will address addiction, behaviors, available resources, and will help smokers develop a quit plan.  All tobacco users and non-tobacco users who would like to learn more are welcome.
Pre-registration is required!  For more information or to register, call Tracy Tubbs at 270.442.1310.

A free nutrition education event titled "Zzzz For Your Health" will be held Friday, March 18 from 9-9:30 a.m. in the Center for Health and Wellness.  An occasional late night movie with the kids may not be detrimental, but consistently not getting a full night's rest can negatively impact your overall health.  We will be focusing on how sleep deprivation can affect your metabolism.  We will also be looking into foods that may help you sleep versus foods that could cause you to toss and turn all night.
