Murray-Calloway County Hospital (MCCH) is proud to welcome Margaret (Meg) Norsworthy, APRN, to Murray Neurology and Dr. Rachel Korson, Neurologist.

Meg has worked in various roles in her nursing career but she started as a Surgical Tech. After nine years, she decided to go back to school at Murray State University where she received her Bachelors’ Degree in Nursing in 2009. She then worked as a nurse in the Cardiac Telemetry Department for almost two years and then returned back to the Surgery Department where she worked as a Circulator for 5 more years.

Norsworthy completed her Family Nurse Practitioner Certification (APRN) from Walden University in 2015. As a part of her training she completed various rotations in different areas including family practice, pediatrics, women’s health, cardiology, and cardio thoracic surgery. In her most current role, she has worked as a Nurse Practitioner for Dr. Chris King, Neurologist, for 21 months until he relocated to practice in another state.

“I chose to keep furthering my education because I want my patients to have the highest quality care possible. I want patients to have access to the best, evidence based practice they could receive anywhere in the nation, right here in Western Kentucky. Just because they see a Nurse Practitioner does not mean they will receive mediocre care. I genuinely care for my patients and getting them positive outcomes which improves quality of life. With genuine caring, comes the desire to keep learning and exploring the best care options for patients. ”

She will be caring for all general neurology patients and those who may have any of the following conditions: Parkinson’s, Multiple Sclerosis, Seizure disorders, OSA, tremors, stroke, neuropathy, psuedotumor, normal pressure hydrocephalus, migraines, dementia, Myasthenia Gravis, Fibromyalgia, Vertigo, and more. Margaret is available to see patients Monday-Thursday from 8 am – 5 pm.

Originally from Famington, KY, Norsworthy lives in Murray with her husband Chris and their five children. When she’s not working, Margaret enjoys spending time with her family, singing, crafting, and going to church.
