Overview
Compassionate and Competent Emergency Treatment
When severe injuries occur, options are limited and time is essential. That’s why our emergency department staff always strives to provide the highest quality of care possible, from triage to discharge.
Emergency Tips
Help us help you by keeping some things in mind and bringing a few materials with you if you’re taking an unexpected trip to the emergency room:
- Names and dosages of medications you take
- What time you take medications
- Your allergies
- Medical history
- Driver’s license and insurance
What to Expect
Triage
When you arrive, a registered nurse will inquire about the reason for your visit before performing a brief exam. Triage is done to determine the severity of your condition.
Registration
After triage, you’ll be asked to register. A staff member will keep you informed as you wait for the next available treatment room.
Treatment
During treatment, a physician will evaluate your condition. Tests such as IVs, blood or urine samples may be required.
Re-Evaluation
After tests, you will be re-evaluated to determine whether a discharge, admittance, or transfer is necessary.
Discharge
When you are discharged, you will be given complete after-care instructions. Be sure to follow up with your private physician or the physician to whom you were referred. you are discharged, you will be given complete after-care instructions.
