MCCH First Baby of 2019

Brandon and Maria Dunphy of Murray started off 2019 as the proud new parents of their 8 pound, 2 ounce, baby girl, Kairi Elizabeth who was 21 inches long. The expected due date wasn’t until January 3 however, following mom’s checkup and the ultrasound of baby Kairi, Maria was induced due to the expected weight of the baby.

After 14.5 hours of labor her water broke and the Dunphy family welcomed baby girl Kairi at 10:07 am on January 1st with Dr. Dawn N. Deeter, OB/GYN, of Women’s Health of Murray delivering. Dr. Heath Cates of Murray Pediatrics is baby Dunphys Pediatrician.

This was the Dunphy's 1st baby, and they decided to keep the gender of the baby a surprise until delivery, however, they did a Facebook poll with 60% guessing it was a girl and 40% guessing a boy.

“I was really happy and wanted a girl. She’s just adorable,” said Brandon.

Maria is a 5 ½ year employee of the hospital and works as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in the Radiology Dept. Her husband, Brandon, is a Quality Analyst for iwis in Murray.

The couple received various gifts from MCCH and the Ledger of Times for being the first baby of the New Year. They also received the Dolly Parton Imagination Library program which is sponsored by the Calloway County Early Childhood Council to one baby a month born at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. The baby will receive one book per month until their 5th birthday.

The Dunphy family looks forward to starting 2019 with the new addition to their family.
