MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital recently held a retirement tea honoring Sherry Freeman, APRN, from Women’s Health of Murray. After graduating nursing school on a Saturday in June 1972, Sherry went straight into work that following Monday at Henry County General Hospital for two years and then as a Public Health Nurse for two years. In 1976 she was asked to go through Nurse Practitioner training for Women’s Health, a field in which she devoted herself to for the last 49 years. Sherry is known by many in our community for her sharp tact and unmeasured dedication toward her patients and staff.
“Nursing and caring for people is who I am. My patients have shaped me. I have learned from all of the wonderful medical staff I have worked with, but my patients have made me who I am today,” said Sherry Freeman, APRN.
Sherry said she plans to care for her sister, and has two cruises coming up, one up in Alaska and one down below in the Caribbean. She also plans to spend time in her yard with her lovely flowers.
