MURRAY, KY – Murray-Calloway County Hospital recently named Alice Futrell, RN as the October 2024 Employee of the Month. Futrell is a Registered Nurse on the Float Pool Team at MCCH. She has been with the organization since February 2023.
What Alice’s colleagues had to say about her:
“Alice is an excellent nurse! She is a go-getter as well, always up for a challenge and conquering it. She was recently asked to supervise for the hospital and recommended by several staff and without hesitation she did; as she knew there was a need. She also was asked to charge on 4th and 5th floor so she oriented to do that and has been charging on both floors. This week all 3 shifts were for charging on those two floors. She has trained to work in endoscopy and picks up in that department as well. She works in the ER at times and has worked in post partum when needed. She is willing to learn anything and wants to, she is beyond eager to learn. She is a such an asset to our organization and very resourceful as she has much experience. I asked her today about picking up in lab as they are short staffed and if it was a possibility for her to get up and be here at 4 AM. Once again, she said she would love to. She wants to teach others as well as help others. She is very deserving of this award.”
“Alice, since starting with the float pool has oriented to charge position on 4 south in order to cover open shifts. She not only charges the day shift, but is willing to and has flipped to charge the 7 PM shift. She not only “charges,” she takes interest in what is current with the unit. Alice is also cross trained to house supervise and picks up several open shifts on their schedule. Also, doing all of this with a smile, positive attitude and one who truly shows what it is like to be a team player!”
