Richard Blalock, II, MD
Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Blalock graduated from Murray High School prior to graduating Murray State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He continued his education at Vanderbilt School of Medicine in Nashville, TN, where he received his medical degree. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency program at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Blalock continued his medical training by completing a specialty fellowship program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Blalock enjoys spending time with family and friends, as well as, fishing and skiing. He is married to Renee, and they have three daughters.
Stephen Compton, MD
Orthopaedics
Dr. Compton joined the medical staff in 2013. His practice includes sports medicine injuries, rotator cuff repair, ACL reconstruction, carpal tunnel release, hip and knee replacement and other procedures. Dr. Stephen Compton graduated from Murray High School prior to graduating Murray State University Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Biology. He continued his education at the University of Louisville, School of Medicine where he graduated Summa Cum Laude and received his medical degree. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency program at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, IA. Dr. Compton is a disciple of Jesus Christ. He is married to his high school sweetheart and together they have five children. He enjoys serving others, spending time with family, weight lifting, exercising and various sporting activities.
Derek Morgan, MD
Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Morgan graduated from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas and completed his medical degree at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He finished his residency program in Orthopaedics at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Wichita where he was awarded the Resident Teacher of the Year Award. Dr. Morgan furthered his medical training by completing a fellowship in Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction at Stanford University in California. He has three boys and in his spare time enjoys spending time at the lake and with family and friends.
